Qualifications

• 7+ лет опыта разработки масштабируемых backend-сервисов в продукционной среде.

Responsibilities

• Проектирование, сборка и поддержка core API и бэкенд-сервисов.

Founded in 2017, refurbed is a marketplace for refurbished products active in 23 European countries. Its mission is to make sustainable consumption an easy choice by offering products at lower prices while reducing CO₂ emissions.

• Design, build, and maintain core APIs and backend services powering the mobile app and marketplace
• Own production systems operations and monitoring
• Review backend designs and API changes across squads to ensure they meet the mobile app’s needs and constraints, and flag caveats early
• Integrate third-party systems and APIs into the platform
• Own the design and implementation of new features and services
• Identify best practices and create or suggest standards for the engineering department
• Document and demonstrate solutions using documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code
• Mentor junior colleagues and onboard new joiners
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
• Share insights and present achievements and results in relevant meetings
• Occasionally propagate backend changes to the frontend

• 7+ Years of experience designing and building scalable backend services in a modern production environment
• Strong proficiency in Go and deep understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture
• Comfortable with JavaScript/TypeScript or able to learn Node.js quickly
• Experience working on a team that builds and maintains a native mobile app, with an understanding of how mobile apps consume backend services and related constraints
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database design
• General frontend knowledge and ability to perform basic tasks in frontend apps
• Self-starter with ownership, initiative, and ability to learn and navigate complex systems
• Open-minded, with clear, direct, and respectful communication
• Humble, collaborative, and comfortable in a transparent culture
• Excellent English skills
• Based in a European time zone
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience, is desired
• Nice to have: Node.js experience, reviewing designs and guiding engineers across squads
