Job summary

UST is seeking a Backend Developer Analyst to join the SIMA Squad. The role focuses on Apache Spark and Scala development for data processing solutions, delivering across the full software lifecycle from analysis to production validation.

Collaboration with business and technical teams is essential to design scalable data solutions. The candidate will implement backend services, optimize ETL pipelines, and ensure code quality.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years in Apache Spark/Scala development.
• Experience with Control-M scheduling.
• Proficiency in PL/SQL and database objects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and implement user stories following Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend solutions using Apache Spark and Scala.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes and data transformation pipelines.
• Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure solution quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects identified during development, testing, and production phases.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and coordinate issue resolution.
• Monitor and manage scheduled processes using Control-M.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams, and other squad members.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Backend Developer Analyst with solid experience in Apache Spark and Scala development to join the SIMA Squad, working in an Agile environment. The selected candidate will participate in the development and maintenance of data processing solutions related to RAS Metrics, contributing to the full software delivery lifecycle from analysis and development to testing and production validation.

The role requires close collaboration with business and technical teams to understand requirements, implement scalable data solutions, ensure code quality, and support deployments across different environments.

Main Responsibilities

• Analyze and implement user stories following Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend solutions using Apache Spark and Scala.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes and data transformation pipelines.
• Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure solution quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects identified during development, testing, and production phases.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and coordinate issue resolution.
• Participate in production validation activities and post-deployment support.
• Monitor and manage scheduled processes using Control-M.
• Develop and maintain PL/SQL scripts, queries, and database objects.
• Ensure compliance with coding standards, performance requirements, and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams, and other squad members to deliver high-quality solutions.
