Job summary

UST España & Latam is seeking a Backend Developer Analyst to join the SIMA Squad. You will design, implement, and maintain data processing solutions using Apache Spark and Scala in an Agile environment, contributing across the full software delivery lifecycle from analysis to production validation.

The role emphasizes collaboration with business and technical teams to build scalable data solutions and ensure code quality, with 100% remote work for candidates based in Spain.

Qualifications

• > 3 years of experience with Apache Spark and Scala.
• Experience with Control-M.
• Proficiency in PL/SQL.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and implement user stories following Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend solutions using Apache Spark and Scala.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes and data transformation pipelines.
• Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure solution quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects identified during development, testing, and production phases.
• Support UAT activities and coordinate issue resolution.
• Participate in production validation activities and post-deployment support.
• Monitor and manage scheduled processes using Control-M.
• Develop and maintain PL/SQL scripts, queries, and database objects.
• Ensure coding standards and performance requirements are met.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA, and squad members to deliver high-quality solutions.

What Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a Backend Developer Analyst with solid experience in Apache Spark and Scala development to join the SIMA Squad, working in an Agile environment. The selected candidate will participate in the development and maintenance of data processing solutions related to RAS Metrics, contributing to the full software delivery lifecycle from analysis and development to testing and production validation.

The role requires close collaboration with business and technical teams to understand requirements, implement scalable data solutions, ensure code quality, and support deployments across different environments.

Location: 100% Remote for candidates based in Spain.

Mandatory skills:

• At least 3 years of working experience with Apache Spark/ Scala.

Main Responsibilities
