Job summary

AXS seeks a Software Engineer to join the carbonhouse team in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on applying AI to production software, building scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that power AI-driven features.

You will collaborate with product and design to ship AI-powered capabilities, integrate AI tools, and optimize performance and costs across cloud environments. Strong backend and AI tooling experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities (LLMs, embeddings, classification) into production apps.
• Experience building data pipelines for AI workflows.
• Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and context-aware systems.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and databases.
• Ability to write clean, tested code and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
