Job summary

FastTek Global is seeking a Senior IBM Sterling OMS Developer to join our Order Management engineering organization in Dearborn, MI. You will design, develop, and enhance IBM Sterling OMS solutions, focusing on end-to-end order management capabilities, including sourcing, fulfillment, payments, and customer care workflows.

You will configure core OMS modules, extend workflows, and implement customized integrations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on IBM Sterling OMS development in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in OMS orchestration workflows and core modules.
• Experience with containerized IBM Sterling OMS versions.
• Experience with Sterling OrderHub and/or CallCenter customization.
• Strong Core Java and microservices skills; REST/JSON and SQL knowledge.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP/AWS) and OpenShift.
• CI/CD pipeline design and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance OMS solutions on IBM Sterling OMS platform.
• Configure and extend OMS core modules and custom flows.
• Integrate with Sterling OrderHub and Call Center.
• Ensure code quality with unit testing and maintainable code.

Job Description:

• Our Company is looking for a Senior IBM Sterling OMS Developer to join our Order Management engineering organization.
• This role is suited for an experienced engineer who enjoys working in complex enterprise ecosystems and who consistently demonstrates engineering excellence—strong design fundamentals, clean and maintainable code, disciplined unit testing, and a high bar for secure and compliant software delivery.
• As a Senior Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing solutions on the IBM Sterling Order Management System (OMS) platform.
• You will work on business-critical order management capabilities that support end-to-end commerce journeys, including order capture, sourcing, fulfillment orchestration, inventory visibility, payments, cancellations, returns/exchanges, and customer care workflows.
• Your work will directly contribute to building reliable and scalable OMS capabilities that meet demanding performance and operational expectations.
• A major part of this role involves configuring and extending OMS core modules, implementing customized flows and integrations, and ensuring solutions are built with quality and operability in mind.
• You will also contribute to advanced customizations for Sterling Order Hub and Sterling Next Gen Call Center, helping deliver efficient experiences for business users and customer service teams.
• We are looking for someone who is proactive, outcome-driven, and able to navigate ambiguity—an engineer who can dig deep into complex issues, propose pragmatic solutions, and raise the overall quality bar through strong technical contributions, code reviews, and mentorship.

Experience Required:

• 7+ years of hands-on IBM Sterling OMS development/implementation experience in enterprise environments
• Strong expertise in OMS functional and technical areas, particularly around orchestration workflows and core OMS modules: Participant Modeling, Process Modeling (Sales, Returns & Exchanges, Purchase/DropShip, Transfer Orders), Sourcing, Payments and Invoicing, GIV, Custom Agents, SDF, Catalog, etc.
• Experience working in containerized versions of IBM Sterling OMS
• Experience in customizing IBM Sterling OrderHub and/ or CallCenter modules
• Strong hands-on development skills in Core Java and microservices architecture
• Strong experience with RESTful services, JSON, and integration patterns.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL and data troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated commitment to code quality and unit testing (e.g., JUnit/Mockito or equivalent testing frameworks)
• Hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot agentic frameworks for AI assisted development like GitHub Copilot or similar

Experience Preferred:

• Experience working on cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, etc.
• Experience working on on-prem versions of IBM Sterling OMS on OpenShift platform
• Familiarity with CICD pipeline design, enhancements and troubleshooting
• Exposure to frontend technologies such as React and/or TypeScript
• Automation testing frameworks like Playwright, Selenium
