Job Description
- The Bartender delivers internal and external guest service the Boyd Way, exhibiting friendliness, approachability, politeness, and courtesy. They seek opportunities to assist guests and team members, remaining sincere and knowledgeable to respond effectively to needs and questions.
- Responsible for learning all of Belterra Park’s room outlets and bartending functions, and for answering general questions regarding the property.
- The Bartender anticipates guest needs and responds with a sense of urgency.
- Recognizes guests immediately with a friendly greeting, informing them of specialty cocktails, promotions, and events related to Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc.’s services and facilities.
- Takes beverage orders from serving staff or directly from guests and serves wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages with proper garnishes, adhering to recipes and guest requests.
- Measures all drinks using the Berg system or a Jigger, and checks IDs to verify age requirements.
- Accurately processes payments through the POS system in a timely manner.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the bar, work areas, and tables, and provides amenities such as matches, napkins, and ashtrays.
- Assists guests with beverage selection, demonstrating salesmanship and product knowledge, and delivers orders promptly.
- Limits problems related to excessive drinking by providing responsible alcohol service and following training from the responsible alcohol certification course.
- Prepares garnishes, cleans, stocks, and arranges bar supplies and equipment to ensure a clean and attractive environment.
- Participates in liquor glassware removal, ensuring compliance with Ohio Gaming Commission regulations.
- Wears special event uniforms during holidays and special occasions as directed by management.
- Follows all health, safety, and liquor regulations, including those for serving minors and intoxicated guests.
- Maintains all assigned areas and equipment in a sanitary and safe manner.
- Attends scheduled training programs, performs duties with attention to detail, sanitation, and safety, and completes all assigned tasks including opening and closing procedures.
- Passes all necessary tests and maintains a professional appearance.
- Demonstrates resiliency in dealing with difficult guests and works harmoniously with coworkers.
- Follows Standard Operating Procedures and performs all duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Must obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must pass the Bartenders Qualification Assessment Test.
- Effective communication skills with internal and external guests.
- Responsible alcohol service certification is required.
- Knowledge of beverages, wines, and garnishes.
