Job Description

1. The Bartender delivers internal and external guest service the Boyd Way, exhibiting friendliness, approachability, politeness, and courtesy. They look for opportunities to assist guests and team members, responding sincerely and with knowledge to needs and questions.
2. Responsible for learning all of Belterra Park’s outlets, functions, and answering general questions about the property.
3. Anticipate guest needs and respond with urgency.
4. Recognize guests with friendly greetings and inform them of promotions, events, and services.
5. Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.
6. Serve wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently, mixing ingredients per recipes and guest requests.
7. Adhere to policies by measuring drinks with proper tools and verifying age requirements.
8. Account for and collect payments via POS system promptly.
9. Maintain the bar environment by cleaning, stocking, and organizing.
10. Assist guests with beverage selections, demonstrating salesmanship and product knowledge.
11. Deliver orders promptly throughout the assigned section.
12. Maintain cleanliness of the lounge and bar area, managing glassware, silverware, and debris.
13. Provide responsible alcohol service to minimize problems related to excessive drinking.
14. Clean and stock bar equipment and supplies, arrange bottles and garnishes attractively.
15. Slice and prepare fruit for garnishing drinks.
16. Participate in liquor glassware removal in compliance with Ohio Gaming regulations.
17. Wear special event uniforms during holidays and special occasions as required.
18. Follow all health, safety, and liquor regulations, including serving to minors and intoxicated guests.
19. Use and maintain all equipment safely and effectively.
20. Attend scheduled training programs and perform duties with attention to sanitation and safety.
21. Complete opening, closing, and other assigned duties.
22. Pass training and tests to retain necessary knowledge.
23. Maintain a professional appearance.
24. Handle difficult guests with resiliency and work harmoniously with coworkers.
25. Follow Standard Operating Procedures for consistent service quality.
26. Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass the Bartenders Qualification Assessment Test.
• Effective communication skills with guests.
• Responsible alcohol service certification.
• Knowledge of beverages, wines, and garnishes.
