Job summary

METRIX IT SOLUTIONS INC in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Azure Virtual Desktop Architect to lead design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise virtual desktops and published apps. You will manage end-to-end AVD implementations, including Windows 365, and drive Citrix replacement initiatives, Intune policy management, and application packaging.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and deploying Azure Virtual Desktop at scale.
• Strong knowledge of modern end-user computing platforms.
• Experience with Intune policy management and application packaging.
• Familiarity with DR planning and disaster recovery for VDI environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AVD environments across development, test, pre-production, production, and DR scenarios.
• Develop enterprise architecture, deployment standards, and operations documentation.
• Design scalable, secure virtual desktops and published applications.
• Lead production readiness reviews, DR planning, and DR testing activities.
• Optimize AVD host pools, FSLogix profiles, image management, and monitoring.
• Create infrastructure standards and reference architectures for enterprise AVD deployments.
• Troubleshoot complex AVD issues including performance, authentication, connectivity, and user experience.
• Implement multi-environment go-live readiness for transformation projects.

Senior Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Architect to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and escalation support of enterprise virtual desktop and application delivery platforms. The resource will play a key role in the modernization of end-user computing services, Azure Virtual Desktop deployments, Windows 365 solutions, including Citrix replacement initiatives, Intune policy management, application packaging, and support for critical business applications.

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop environments across development, test, pre-production, production, high availability, and disaster recovery environments.
• Develop enterprise architecture, solution design, deployment standards, and operational support documentation.
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient virtual desktop and published application environments.
• Lead production readiness reviews, DR planning, and DR testing activities.
• Optimize AVD host pools, scaling plans, FSLogix profiles, image management, and performance monitoring.
• Create infrastructure standards and reference architectures for enterprise AVD deployments.
• Troubleshoot complex AVD infrastructure, performance, authentication, connectivity, and user experience issues.
• Implementation of four development and test instances, along with pre-production, gold, production, high-availability, and disaster recovery environments to support go-live readiness for commercial transformation project.
