Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking a Solution Architect to advance foundational infrastructure, especially in our Azure cloud environment, driving multi-region architectures and chaos testing for resilience. You’ll collaborate with product managers to translate outcomes into architecture roadmaps and guide agile teams toward secure, scalable deployments.

The role requires guiding DevSecOps, IaC, and networking improvements while balancing innovation with stability and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience.
• Five (5) or more years of IT experience, including two (2) or more years in architecture.
• Experience with Cloud, Compute, Storage, Network, Cybersecurity is required.
• Experience with architecture principles, process design, development standards, and Best practices.
• Experience working with Agile teams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop reference architecture targeting resilient deployments using IaC and DevSecOps.
• Provide consulting to application teams to ensure resiliency in designs.
• Define and drive architectural strategy and roadmap for initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-functional solution delivery with stakeholders and architects.
• Ensure scalable, maintainable solutions aligned with strategy.
• Mentor teams on architecture best practices across domains.
• Resolve complex integration and alignment challenges across systems.
• Represent architecture in IT strategy discussions.
• Bridge business needs and technical implementation to solve core problems.
