Job summary

ASSYST is seeking a Project Manager in Sterling, VA to lead technology projects and ongoing production activities. The role combines project management, operational support, incident handling, and cross‑team coordination to keep systems stable and responsive to business needs.

The ideal candidate will drive planning, execution, and governance across multiple workstreams while partnering with application, infrastructure, and security teams.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of IT project management or related experience.
• Experience managing IT projects in production/operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Ability to coordinate with application, infrastructure, database, and service desk teams.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient with MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• U.S. Citizenship and eligible for a U.S. Federal Government security clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Manage IT projects from planning through implementation within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate day-to-day operational and production support activities across technical teams.
• Monitor production issues, incidents, risks, and dependencies and drive resolution.
• Coordinate with application, infrastructure, development, and support teams to troubleshoot issues.
• Manage priorities, timelines, action items, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
• Facilitate status meetings and communicate updates to stakeholders and leadership.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, status reports, action logs, and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, system performance, and support efficiency.
