Job summary

Altera Digital Health (India) LLP seeks a Principal Platform Engineer to design and scale an Azure-native cloud platform during cloud migration from on-prem. This hands-on role includes mentoring junior engineers, guiding architecture, and building across infrastructure, automation, observability, and security tooling.

You will lead migration sequencing, operate an AKS-based platform, and advance Terraform modules with interface contracts, while enforcing policy-as-code and identity management

Qualifications

• 8+ years in platform, infra, or SRE with principal-level scope.
• Deep hands-on Azure cloud-native architectures.
• Production Kubernetes experience at scale (AKS preferred).
• Strong GitOps with ArgoCD/Flux; changes traceable in git.
• Experience leading data center to cloud migrations, with BCDR.
• Policy-as-code tooling: Kyverno, OPA or equivalent.
• IAM design: workload identity, least-privilege, secrets mgmt.
• Observability stack: Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos.
• Terraform: reusable modules for multiple teams.
• Practical AI-assisted development tools in daily work.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers without formal authority.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Azure infrastructure using cloud-native approaches.
• Drive migration of services from on-prem to Azure with risk management.
• Operate and extend AKS-based platform with GitOps patterns.
• Develop reusable Terraform modules with clear interfaces.
• Build observability coverage: metrics, logs, alerts.
• Apply policy-as-code to enforce security and compliance.
• Design identity and access management patterns for workloads.
• Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
• Contribute to CI/CD standards across engineering teams.
• Explore AI-driven platform capabilities and safe adoption.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through reviews and pairing.
