Job summary

Bennett Thrasher is seeking an Azure Infrastructure Engineer to lead hands-on cloud initiatives in our Atlanta environment. You will design, implement, and secure Azure infrastructure, including AVD, with a focus on cost efficiency and reliability.

You will mentor IT staff, develop automation, and partner with security and governance teams to maintain enterprise standards. This is a hands-on leadership role in a production setting.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in infrastructure engineering with at least 5 years Azure engineering in production.
• Proven ability to design, migrate, and support enterprise Azure environments.
• Advanced knowledge of Azure compute, storage, networking, security, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and optimize secure, scalable Azure infrastructure.
• Administer Azure Windows Server environments including patching, backup, and Recovery.
• Engineer and support Azure services: VMs, VNets, storage, backups, Site Recovery, and more.
• Lead admin of Azure Virtual Desktop and Nerdio: host pools, session hosts, autoscaling, FSLogix.
• Monitor availability, security, cost, and user experience using Azure Monitor and Defender.
• Develop automation with PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM/Bicep, Terraform for standardization.
• Lead root‑cause analysis for incidents and coordinate remediation with teams.
• Create architecture diagrams, runbooks, DR docs, and operating standards.
• Provide guidance and training to service desk and infrastructure teams.
