Job summary

Bennett Thrasher seeks an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer to lead our Azure server environment and AVD platform, designing, implementing, and securing cloud infrastructure while mentoring other IT team members. You will develop automation with PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates, Bicep or Terraform to standardize deployments, enforce security baselines, and optimize cost and performance.

From design through implementation and ongoing support, you will own complex infrastructure work

Qualifications

• 6+ years of infrastructure engineering with hands-on Azure production experience.
• Experience designing, implementing, migrating, and supporting enterprise Azure environments.
• Advanced knowledge of Azure compute, storage, networking, identity, security, monitoring, governance, backup, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.
• Current Microsoft Azure certification (AZ-104, AZ-140, AZ-305), or equivalent documented training and senior-level hands-on experience; willingness to complete role-specific Azure and Nerdio training as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable Azure infrastructure.
• Administer Azure Windows Server, including deployment, patching, and capacity planning.
• Lead administration and optimization of Azure Virtual Desktop and Nerdio, including host pools and session hosts.
• Develop IaC automations using PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform.
• Monitor and optimize cost, security, and performance; ensure disaster recovery readiness.
• Mentor team members and collaborate with security/compliance stakeholders.
