Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a large HCM client serving U.S. and Canadian public sector customers.

You will work with Cloud Architecture, Cloud Engineering, Security, DevOps, and application delivery teams to design, deploy, automate, secure, and operate scalable Azure environments. Primary duties include implementing infrastructure through Terraform, managing Azure IaaS and PaaS services, enforcing cloud governance and security controls, and troubleshooting

Qualifications

• 7+ years deploying and supporting enterprise infrastructure or cloud environments.
• Significant hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Proficient in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience deploying, configuring, monitoring, and supporting Azure IaaS and PaaS.
• Knowledge of Virtual Machines, VNets, App Services, Key Vault, Storage, and Defender for Cloud.
• Experience with DevOps tools: Terraform, PowerShell, Azure CLI, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Strong cloud governance, security, and compliance awareness.
• Ability to document, runbooks, RACIs, and technical standards.

Responsibilities

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience deploying, administering, and supporting enterprise infrastructure or cloud environments, including significant hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
• Strong experience designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting Azure IaaS and PaaS services
• Strong experience with Azure technologies such as Virtual Machines, VM Scale Sets, VNets, NSGs, routing, DNS, Private Endpoints, App Services, Key Vault, Storage Accounts, Azure Policy, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud
• Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps technologies, including Terraform, PowerShell, Azure CLI, GitHub, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity, security, monitoring, availability, governance, and infrastructure lifecycle management
• Experience implementing and maintaining cloud governance, security configurations, and compliance controls
• Experience working in environments requiring formal change management, operational discipline, security controls, and detailed documentation
• Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud infrastructure, networking, Windows, Linux, Kubernetes, and Azure platform services
• Experience creating and maintaining SOPs, runbooks, RACIs, technical standards, and operational documentation
• Strong communication, collaboration, documentation, and knowledge-transfer skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with architecture, engineering, security, DevOps, and application delivery teams
• Must currently possess, or be eligible to obtain and maintain, the government security clearance or authorization required for the assigned customer or environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Deep technical expertise across Azure, networking, Terraform, GitHub, Kubernetes, and DevOps
• Significant experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting applications hosted on Azure Kubernetes Service
• Advanced Windows administration and network troubleshooting experience across Windows, Linux, Kubernetes, and Azure PaaS environments
• Experience working with public sector security and compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, FedRAMP, Azure Security Benchmark, Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark, or comparable Canadian government frameworks
• Experience automating security, compliance, infrastructure deployment, and remediation activities
• Experience supporting infrastructure within regulated, government, or highly controlled environments
• Experience supporting audit, reporting, monitoring, and compliance evidence-gathering activities
• Strong planning and prioritization skills

The successful candidate will work closely with Cloud Architecture, Cloud Engineering, Security, DevOps, and application delivery teams to design, deploy, automate, secure, and operate highly resilient and scalable Microsoft Azure environments. Primary responsibilities include implementing infrastructure through Terraform, managing Azure IaaS and PaaS services, enforcing cloud governance and security controls, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, and supporting operational and compliance requirements. This individual will also develop technical documentation, runbooks, SOPs, RACIs, and standards while helping the organization meet availability, performance, RTO, RPO, security, and regulatory commitments.
