Job summary

TEKsystems seeks an Azure Engineer to join a true cloud infrastructure team focused on Azure-based network and infrastructure components, not primarily DevOps.

Role involves Terraform-powered automation, landing zones, and security-by-design across IaaS and PaaS with a hybrid work model in Plano/Charlotte area.

Qualifications

• Extensive Azure infrastructure experience including core networking components.
• Proficient with Terraform; distinguish Terraform from Terraform Enterprise.
• Experience creating private endpoints in Azure and connectivity to on-premises systems.
• Knowledge of native Azure security tools such as Sentinel.

Job Description

This role involves working within a true cloud infrastructure team. Candidates should have a strong infrastructure skills with a focus on Azure, and not be primarily DevOps-oriented. A deep understanding of Azure's network and infrastructure components, such as DNS, subnets, storage accounts, and the creation of private endpoints, is essential.

Responsibilities

• Write public cloud infrastructure as code automation using tools such as Terraform.
• Design and develop public cloud landing zones automation to build core cloud foundational platform services.
• Develop cloud services provisioning automation with integrated capabilities of IAM, network, security policies as code, and observability.
• Implement built-in resiliency, observability, and enable FinOps as part of infrastructure automation for IaaS and PaaS services.
• Develop and maintain cloud services CI/CD pipelines to build the cloud platform, virtual machine images, and containers.
• Collaborate with technical product management and operations to deliver the engineering roadmap in an Agile model.
• Partner with Information Security teams to engineer secure application patterns into cloud platforms.
• Perform research and gather relevant information to define stakeholders' business problems.
• Translate business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks for deployment.
• Assist technical analysts and infrastructure engineers in ensuring technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards.
• Promote an inclusive and healthy working environment and help resolve organizational impediments and blockers.

Essential Skills

• Extensive Azure experience with a strong understanding of core infrastructure and network components.
• Proficiency in Terraform, with the ability to distinguish between Terraform and Terraform Enterprise.
• Expertise in creating private endpoints in Azure and understanding their connectivity to on-premises systems.
• Knowledge of native Azure security tools such as Sentinel.

Additional Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with cloud infrastructure as code automation.
• Experience with cloud services provisioning automation.
• Experience in developing cloud CI/CD pipelines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Plano, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
