Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Data Management Specialist in Washington, DC to support a major federal agency. The role focuses on cloud services, database management, data analysis, and reporting with Azure, SQL Server, Power BI, and Tomcat. Strong scripting with Azure CLI/PowerShell and Data Bricks is required.

A Public Trust clearance is a condition of employment. The position involves hands-on work across Azure resources, SQL Server, ETL pipelines, and BI reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data management.
• Hands-on with Azure, SQL Server, Power BI, Apache Tomcat, R Studio, and Data Bricks.
• Proficient in Azure Administration and SQL Server Database Administration.
• Experience with Apache Tomcat deployments and integration.
• Proficiency in Power BI for report creation and data visualization.
• R Studio for data analysis and statistical modeling.
• Basic experience with Azure Databricks for data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Azure resources (Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage, Data Lake).
• Configure Azure-based data storage, security, and access control.
• Develop automation scripts using Azure CLI and PowerShell.
• Monitor and optimize SQL Server instances for reliability.
• Perform backups, restores, and ensure data integrity.
• Assist migrations/upgrades of SQL Server to cloud platforms.
• Deploy and maintain applications via Apache Tomcat.
• Develop Data Bricks pipelines and scalable ETL processes.
• Create Power BI reports and dashboards for insights.
• Use R Studio for data analysis and modeling.
• Document processes and configurations for data governance.
