Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking an Azure SQL Database Administrator to manage SQL Server environments across on‑premises and Azure, ensuring performance, security, and reliability. The role includes cloud migrations, HA/DR, and automation through PowerShell and Terraform.

You will work with onshore and offshore teams to support migrations, backups, and enterprise data strategies in a hybrid Raleigh, NC setup. This is a 6‑month contract to hire engaging critical applications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SQL Server Database Administration experience.
• 3+ years of experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
• Experience with database migration projects.
• Experience managing SQL Server High Availability solutions, including Always On Availability Groups.
• Experience with backup and recovery strategies.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade SQL Server environments.
• Administer SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments.
• Administer Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Assist in cloud migration initiatives, including upgrades to SQL PaaS from IaaS.
• Implement and support Azure-based high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Azure Site Recovery.
• Implement and validate database backup and recovery strategies, supporting enterprise backup solutions like Rubrik.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell and T‑SQL automation scripts.
• Support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) deployments using Terraform to call modules and deploy resources.
• Manage incidents and service level agreements for various business lines.
• Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams, providing support for migrations and backups.
