Job summary

Vizient is seeking a data engineer to design, develop, and support scalable data and database solutions across healthcare analytics initiatives. You will build modern data pipelines, optimize relational databases, and contribute to cloud-based data platforms using SQL and Python.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable AI/ML use cases, implement ETL/ELT processes, and ensure data governance and compliance in an Azure environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of relevant database and analytics experience required.
• Experience with SQL Server or Azure SQL and T-SQL required.
• Proficiency with Databricks, Spark, and Python needed.
• Experience in Azure cloud environments and data warehousing desired.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines and data modeling essential.
• Experience with .Net/C#, Angular and AI/ML preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and optimize relational database solutions using SQL Server and Azure SQL.
• Improve performance with indexing, tuning, and optimization techniques.
• Develop data pipelines with Azure SQL, Databricks, Spark, Python, and PySpark.
• Create scalable ETL/ELT processes to integrate data across cloud platforms.
• Support AI/ML initiatives by preparing data pipelines and feature datasets.
• Model relational and dimensional data structures, including SCD patterns.
• Collaborate with data science teams to operationalize models with Spark and ML services.
• Participate in design reviews, coding sessions, and Agile ceremonies.
• Work with developers, BI teams, and analytics partners to deliver integrated solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure data governance and quality.
