Insight Global is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to join a client in Richmond, VA. You will own the Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and cost-effective operations while partnering with IT, development, security, and compliance teams.

The role requires a 5+ year track record in infrastructure or cloud-focused roles, with strong ownership of cloud platforms and vendor oversight. A Bachelor's degree in IT/CS is preferred, and knowledge of audits like ISO 27001 or SOC 2

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years IT infrastructure or systems administration; 3+ years in cloud-focused roles.
• Experience as technical owner for cloud platforms.
• Proven experience managing MSPs or third-party vendors.
• Strong Azure expertise across compute, networking, identity, storage, security.
• Experience with security, compliance or audit (ISO 27001, SOC 2).

Responsibilities

• Own cloud infrastructure strategy and operations across Azure.
• Be primary escalation point for cloud reliability, security, and performance.
• Govern MSPs and vendors, incl. change approvals and SLAs.
• Define and enforce cloud standards, security controls, and change mgmt.
• Coordinate audits (ISO 27001, SOC 2) and remediation.
• Collaborate with Security, Compliance, Risk teams on regulatory needs.
• Oversee cloud cost management, budgeting, forecasting, optimization.
• Maintain cloud architecture documentation.
• Evaluate new cloud tools and vendors; advise leadership.
• Support business growth with scalable, resilient cloud platforms.
