Job summary

System One is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer for an onsite contract in Washington, DC. You will manage Windows and Linux environments, configure servers, and ensure system reliability and storage performance.

The role emphasizes security, backups, and disaster recovery with integration to backup teams and DR plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows Server and Linux, plus hands-on scripting/automation and experience with storage technologies and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, system administration, or related field plus 4+ years of relevant experience.
3+ years of experience in system administration with Windows Server and Linux environments.
Experience with storage technologies (SAN, NAS, RAID) and familiarity with AD/GP for Windows.
Scripting and automation experience (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) a plus.
Knowledge of monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds) and backup solutions.

Responsibilities

Manage, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux across on-prem and cloud environments.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot server hardware, OS, and apps.
Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patch management.
Monitor performance, ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of infrastructure.
Administer storage systems (SAN/NAS), configure volumes, RAID, and LUNs.
