Job summary

DocuSign is seeking a Software Engineer to advance the Search and Data Platform in the IAM initiative, building scalable cloud-backed search and data services for millions of users. You will contribute from PoC to V1, ensuring fault tolerance, security, and high performance in a modern cloud environment.

The role focuses on distributed search infrastructure, microservices, and collaboration with product teams to deliver reliable, fast search capabilities and robust test coverage.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Informatics, or relevant fields.
• 3+ years of software development experience in object-oriented languages (C#, Java, C++, or Go).
• 1+ years of experience with large-scale data systems and search engines (Elasticsearch, Solr).
• 1+ years of experience with distributed data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Kafka).
• 1+ years of experience building services in public cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Responsibilities

• Build fault-tolerant, high-throughput search systems using microservices architecture.
• Lead the implementation and optimization of search clusters to ensure sub-second query performance across petabytes of data.
• Develop and deploy scalable services in Azure, leveraging containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code.
• Collaborate with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical designs, drive implementation, write ample test coverage, and oversee the release process.
• Conduct code reviews, and work with cross-site teams to drive engineering best practices.
• Identify and resolve production issues, ensuring 99.99% availability for critical search services.
