Job summary

California Institute of Applied Technology is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for Microsoft Azure Cloud to teach synchronous online courses. Classes are held Monday and Tuesday evenings, 6:00pm–9:30pm PT, remotely with company approval for location.

Reports to the Associate Dean of Education—Cloud Computing and the role is non-exempt with variable hours. The instructor must hold current Azure certifications and a bachelor’s degree or higher, with 2–3 years of relevant experience or teaching

Qualifications

• Official transcripts of bachelor’s or higher from an accredited institution and active/current certification in the taught subject.
• Current certifications: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Azure Cloud Administration and Azure Cloud Security.
• At least three years' experience in the field OR two years of teaching experience.
• Synchronous online teaching preferred.
• Effective presentation, communication and technology skills.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as learning technologies such as Canvas.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Teach synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams on Mondays and Tuesdays.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning and engagement.
• Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs and stay current in subject matter.
• Maintain compliance with college policies and professional standards.
• Deliver engaging lesson plans and communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
