Job summary

California Institute of Applied Technology is seeking an Adjunct Instructor – Microsoft Azure Cloud to teach synchronous online courses via Teams. This remote role reports to the Associate Dean of Education - Cloud Computing and requires current Azure certifications and solid teaching experience.

Classes are scheduled in evenings Pacific Time, Monday and Tuesday, with a flexible, variable-hour schedule designed to accommodate candidates with other commitments.

Qualifications

• Official transcripts of bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Current certifications in Azure Fundamentals, Azure Cloud Administration, and Azure Cloud Security.
• Minimum three years in field or two years teaching experience.
• Advanced subject matter expertise with ongoing professional development.

• Teach synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams on Mondays and Tuesdays.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning and engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching:Available to teach synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams on Mondays and Tuesdays every weekPlan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning and engagementModify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needsEmploy appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students via a synchronous online format (Microsoft Teams)Current certifications in subjects taughtMastery of Subject Matter:Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of their field or disciplineConnect their subject matter with related fieldsStay current in their subject matter through professional development, through involvement in professional organizations, and attending professional meetings, conferences, or workshopsAdhering to College Policies and Procedures:Maintain compliance with accreditation related to instructional and the quality of education, scheduled class hours requirements and CIAT policies and proceduresPromote collaboration with other staff members and participate in the implementation of new projects, ideas, etc.Adhere to the CIAT business casual attire. Qualifications and Educational Requirements

Information Technology Instructors must provide official transcripts of bachelor's or higher (must be from an accredited institution) degree and active/current certification on the subject being taught

Current certifications: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Azure Cloud Administration and Azure Cloud Security

At least three years’ experience in the respective field OR two years of teaching experienceAdvanced subject matter expertise preferred with a commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with developments in the fieldSynchronous online teaching preferredEffective presentation skills, communication and technology skillsGood working knowledge of MS Office applications including Microsoft Teams Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as learning technologies such as CanvasWork independently with minimal supervision, with a high level of dependabilityAbility to multitaskSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a variable hour position. Days and hours of work are usually Monday through Friday, but weekend and evening hours may be required. Live classes are scheduled twice a week (Monday and Tuesday) from 6:00pm-9:00pm (Pacific Time).LocationThis is a fully remote position. Work must be conducted in locations that have been approved by the company.
