Akkodis is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer with APIM for a 24-month contract (W2). The role is based across multiple US sites with about 3 days onsite weekly, including Hopkins, MN. The candidate should have strong Azure/APIM, Terraform, Python, and cloud experience, capable of leading others and delivering robust cloud solutions.

Salary range is $72–$75 per hour, negotiable by experience, with standard benefits and security clearances as applicable to a contract position.

Summary:

SA cloud engineer is an IT professional responsible for any technological duties associated with cloud computing, including design, planning, management, maintenance and support.

Job Responsibilities for Cloud Engineer:

• Installs and maintains cloud-based applications, systems, and associated infrastructures.
• Translates business requirements into code and documentation while managing the life-cycle and communication for assigned projects.
• Analyzes and defines business requirements to determine specifications and standards.
• Oversees the proper implementation and integration of web and cloud-based applications.
• Stays informed of emerging cloud technologies and evaluates the value to the organizations operations.

• Demonstration of thorough understanding of how discrete infrastructure components work together to provide reliable and secure hosting environment.
• Vast understanding of cloud services and solutions in platforms such as Azure or AWS Comprehensive understanding of IT security best practices and threat protection
• Must have a good understanding of connected embedded systems tradeoffs, protocols, etc.

Reason for Role:

This position is a backfill for the EASE team, which is currently focused on enabling Cloud Native gateways in AWS and Azure. At present, we are relying on offshore resources for this project, which is affecting the progress of our AWS Federated API gateway and APIM work in Azure and impacting Cloud roadmap. With one of our existing full stack onshore resources set to be terminated at the end of 2025 due to tenure limits, we are repurposing this position to close the skill gap in Native API Gateway capabilities.
