Job summary

Astyra Corporation is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to join the Engineering and Operations team for an 8-month contract. The role focuses on Azure cloud engineering, application support, and rotational helpdesk support, with responsibilities across cloud resources, security, governance, and performance optimization.

The candidate will work with architects, developers, DBAs, and management to ensure secure, efficient Azure usage, including AKS, AVD, App Services, and Power Apps.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience with Microsoft Azure services.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience administering Office 365 services and Power Apps.
• Experience administering Single Sign-On (SSO) and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Strong scripting skills using PowerShell and/or Python.
• Ability to create network diagrams and system topology documentation.
• Experience with Azure Virtual Desktops (AVD).
• Understanding of cloud security, networking, infrastructure, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Operations and Engineering: implement, maintain, and support Azure cloud resources and infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with security policies, IAM, network controls, and cloud cost governance.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, naming conventions, tagging standards, and governance artifacts.
• Assist with access reviews, role assignments, and least-privilege IAM evaluations.
• Manage vendor updates and verify system compatibility.
• Implement fault-tolerant, highly available Azure solutions.
• Provide best-practice guidance for SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments.
• Monitoring, Troubleshooting, and Diagnostics: monitor Azure services and workloads to maintain uptime.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, access, security, performance, and degradation issues.
• Perform diagnostic analysis using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, metrics, and traces.
• Analyze and optimize system and application performance.
• Monitor application health using Application Insights.
