Job summary

BVG & Company is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer II to design, implement, and sustain cloud and hybrid network infrastructure in support of the NEST Communication Program. The role requires strong Azure engineering skills, cybersecurity focus, and experience with government systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 6+ years in cloud/network engineering, systems administration, cybersecurity, or related IT fields; 4 extra years may substitute for degree
• 3+ years hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, including at least 2 years in Microsoft Azure
• Experience designing resilient cloud architectures with redundancy, DR, backups, and tested DR procedures
• Experience supporting Azure Government or federal cloud environments and classified systems
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, PowerShell, Azure CLI, Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
• Experience administering Azure VMs, storage, VNets, NSGs, load balancers, firewalls, VPN gateways, monitoring, backup and recovery
• Strong TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPNs, firewalls, and secure remote connectivity
• Experience integrating Azure with on-prem data centers and enterprise networks
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, and least-privilege concepts
• Must have current US DOE Q Clearance/Top Secret and ability to obtain SCI clearance

• Design, implement, secure, automate, and sustain cloud and hybrid network infrastructure

• Apply IaC and automation to cloud environments and ensure resilience
• Collaborate with teams across security, networks, and operations to meet mission requirements
• Maintain and improve disaster recovery, backups, and monitoring for Azure environments
