Job summary

Howard University is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize a secure Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure that supports institutional data, analytics, and enterprise technology services. You will automate provisioning, manage IAM, and ensure governance aligned with university standards.

Reporting to the Chief Data and Analytics Officer, you will collaborate with data engineering, security, and application teams to deliver reliable, scalable cloud solutions while controlling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant technology experience, including Microsoft Azure cloud experience.
• Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant technology experience, including Microsoft Azure cloud experience.
• Azure certifications strongly preferred and relevant cloud experience in higher education or complex orgs.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain secure and scalable Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Manage Azure networking, compute, storage, IAM, and cloud security configurations.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation to standardize cloud provisioning and configuration.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, security, and utilization; troubleshoot issues.
• Support cloud-based data platforms, analytics environments, and enterprise applications.
