Job summary

NRI North America is seeking a Cloud Engineer for a contract-to-hire role in Herndon, VA. You will join the Cloud Engineering Team to design, implement, and document cloud infrastructure across cloud, on‑premises, and hybrid environments.

You will collaborate with IT teams to deliver highly available services, migrate systems to Azure, and optimize performance. Strong Azure experience and identity management are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; equivalent hands‑on experience may be considered
• Minimum 5 years experience with systems infrastructure planning, security principles, and IT service management best practices
• Minimum 3 years' experience designing, implementing, administering, and supporting cloud systems on Microsoft Azure
• Experience with hybrid cloud architectures and connectivity between on‑premises infrastructure and Azure environments
• Strong knowledge of identity management systems, Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, MFA, and hybrid identity services

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of cloud systems infrastructure
• Plan, design, and implement IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions in Microsoft Azure
• Develop implementation plans, milestones, risk assessments, and technical requirements
• Collaborate with development teams to identify optimal cloud solutions
• Deploy new applications and enhancements to cloud and on‑premises systems
• Produce automated reports, dashboards, and metrics for monitoring
