Job summary

Brooksource is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our Tampa team onsite four days per week on a 12-month contract. In this hands-on role, you will support a large-scale Azure environment and help drive reliability, security, automation, and evolution of cloud infrastructure.

You will design and manage Azure infrastructure, implement IaC with Terraform, CI/CD with Azure DevOps, and work across networking, security, governance, and identity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cloud/Infrastructure Engineering or related field with strong hands-on Azure experience.
• Proficiency with Terraform and IaC for reusable deployments.
• Strong DevOps/CI-CD practices with Azure DevOps, Git, and Azure CLI.
• Experience with Azure networking, security, governance, and identity (RBAC, Entra, MFA, PIM).
• Automation scripting with PowerShell and cloud-native tools.

$60 - $70 per hour (12-month contract)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Brooksource is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our team in Tampa, FL, working onsite four days per week on a 12-month contract. In this hands-on role, you will support a large-scale Azure environment and help drive the reliability, security, automation, and ongoing evolution of cloud infrastructure. You will work across Azure infrastructure, networking, security, identity, governance, and DevOps, designing and managing cloud solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing scalable, automated solutions that align with cloud best practices. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded Cloud Engineer who enjoys balancing day-to-day operations with longer-term infrastructure improvements, and who thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and hybrid cloud connectivity, with a focus on scalability, availability, and performance
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform to support automated and repeatable cloud deployments
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, Git, Azure CLI, and related tools to automate infrastructure and operational processes
• Support Azure networking, security, governance, and identity, including Virtual WAN, private endpoints, Azure Policy, RBAC, Entra hybrid identity, Conditional Access, MFA, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
• Monitor and maintain cloud environments using Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, Azure Advisor, Microsoft Secure Score, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, connectivity, identity, and application issues to ensure reliability and performance of the Azure environment
• Develop automation and operational improvements using PowerShell and other cloud-native tools
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders on cloud initiatives and best practices

WHAT YOU BRING

• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related field with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure
• Proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, including building and managing reusable infrastructure deployments
• Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices, with hands-on experience using Azure DevOps, Git, and Azure CLI
• Experience with Azure networking, security, governance, and identity (e.g., private endpoints, Virtual WAN, Azure Policy, RBAC, Entra, Conditional Access, MFA, PIM)
• Strong scripting and automation skills, particularly with PowerShell, and the ability to automate infrastructure and operational processes
• Experience monitoring and supporting production Azure environments, with strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and cloud operations skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment and onsite in Tampa four days per week
• Nice to have: Familiarity with Azure Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Azure Well-Architected Framework (WAF), including applying their principles to cloud architecture and infrastructure decisions
