Job summary

AppLab Systems, Inc. in Washington DC seeks an experienced Azure Architect to design and implement enterprise-scale Azure architectures for scalable, secure applications. This onsite role supports AKS, App Services, Cosmo DB, Key Vault, Data Factory, and more, driving modernization initiatives and cloud governance.

The role requires hands-on Azure expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to mentor teams. Duration is 1+ year on W2 basis, with onsite work in Washington DC.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in enterprise architecture and technical leadership.
• Hands-on Azure with a solid background in .NET development and architecture.
• Extensive experience in Azure architecture and administration.
• Proven track record in enterprise application migration and modernization.
• Strong Level III production support and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience leading technical teams and architecture initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement enterprise-scale Azure architectures for scalable, secure apps.
• Provide Level III support and troubleshoot production issues.
• Design, deploy, and support Azure services (AKS, App Services, Key Vault, Cosmos DB).
• Lead .NET migration and modernization to Azure.
• Review architectures and recommend cloud-native improvements.
• Design Azure networking, private endpoints, identity, security.
• Configure Entra ID, RBAC, Managed Identity, Key Vault integrations.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and YAML.
• Troubleshoot apps, infra, deployments, networking, auth across Azure.
• Establish monitoring, logging, HA, disaster recovery.
• Mentor developers and cloud engineers on Azure best practices.
• Lead architecture reviews and cloud governance.
