Job summary

Harris Computer is seeking a seasoned Principal AI Cloud Architect to lead the AI-first transformation of our Cloud operations on Microsoft Azure. You will design, deploy, and run AI agents to automate and optimize cloud infrastructure, while guiding a small team and engaging with clients.

The role requires deep Azure expertise, hands-on AI/ML work, and leadership to shape governance, security, and FinOps across our cloud platforms. Remote-friendly US position with client-facing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in IT with 10+ years in Cloud architecture (Azure preferred).
• 3+ years hands-on AI/ML, with at least 2 years on production LLM/agentic AI.
• Experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Hands-on with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and agent frameworks.
• Knowledge of agent design patterns, multi-agent orchestration, RAG, MCP.
• Experience applying AI/automation to Cloud operations (AIOps, FinOps, IaC).
• Proven client-facing experience delivering enterprise solutions.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services (compute, storage, security).
• Hands-on with Azure Databricks and modern data architecture.
• Strong communication and presentation skills to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the AI strategy and roadmap for the Cloud unit.
• Build and mentor a team of 2-6 AI and Cloud engineers.
• Architect multi-agent AIOps systems for detection and MTTR.
• Lead design of agents for IaC (Terraform, Bicep) with CI/CD checks.
• Develop FinOps agents to detect cost anomalies and rightsizing.
• Design security and compliance agents for posture and audit evidence.
• Establish AI governance with approvals, guardrails, logging.
• Partner with stakeholders to define end-to-end Cloud and AI solutions.
• Lead architecture for data platforms incl. Databricks.
• Drive monitoring, observability, resiliency, disaster recovery.
• Promote architecture standards and reusable agent patterns.
• Translate complex concepts into business value for clients.
• Evaluate emerging AI tech and update capabilities roadmap.
