Job summary

The University of Chicago's Biological Sciences Division is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver comprehensive care to adolescent and young adult patients within Hematology/Oncology. The APP will work with a multidisciplinary team, manage survivorship, and perform clinical procedures as part of a comprehensive care plan.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, diagnostics, treatment planning, documentation, and collaboration with physicians.

Qualifications

  • Minimum college/university degree from an accredited school.
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience in a clinical setting.
  • State of Illinois licensure/registration required; credentialing through MSO.
  • Mid-level practitioner license and DEA number upon start.
  • Privileged and credentialed through UCM Medical Staff Office prior to start date.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive care for adolescent and young adult patients with hematology/oncology conditions.
  • Performs assessment, diagnosis and treatment for assigned patients.
  • Documents history and exams; manages outpatient care per guidelines.
  • Arranges follow-up tests and coordinates patient care.
  • Staffs clinics and attends multidisciplinary conferences.
  • Handles government reporting, chart reviews, prescriptions, and patient calls.
  • Attends continuing education to stay current in the field.
  • Performs procedures including bone marrow biopsy, intrathecal chemo, and lumbar puncture.
  • Evaluates outcomes, balancing safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develops diagnostic strategies and therapeutic plans.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
