Job summary

St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN seeks a Dance Student Stage Technician Tier 2 to support the Dance Department during performances and events. The role focuses on setup, production, and striking of equipment, plus maintenance of theatrical gear.

Responsibilities include hanging lights, wiring, operating ETC Ion control, Q-Lab, and sound systems, as well as teaching newer workers. Part-time student employee with physical duties and safety training required.

Qualifications

• Maintain Theatrical Equipment and Dance Performance Space
• Attend annual Safety Training and observe safety at all times
• Guide and teach newer workers
• Additional Related duties as assigned

Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):

To assist the Technical Director of the Dance Department with the setup, producing and striking of Dance Department and Dance Department sponsored performances and events as well as maintenance of theatrical equipment and storage.

Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching, kneeling/crawling, stooping, twisting/pivoting, climbing/balancing, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs., operating hand tools, and operating equipment or machinery to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise, respiratory factors, chemicals, proximity hazards, and heights or cramped quarters to perform the essential functions. Protective equipment is required for some essential functions.
