Job summary

The State of Georgia is seeking a Systems Administrator I to administer, configure, and troubleshoot servers and networks with a focus on the agency’s AWS presence. The role supports AWS services across dev, test, and prod with emphasis on security and reliability.

Responsibilities include provisioning and maintaining EC2, VPC, S3, and IAM, managing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring system availability and DR readiness in a government environment.

Qualifications

• Under general supervision, administers, configures, and troubleshoots servers, networks, and computer systems with a focus on AWS presence.
• Preferred qualifications include knowledge of AWS networking, IAM, compute, storage, monitoring, and security services; Linux and Windows Server administration; and IaC/tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support AWS infrastructure across development, testing, and production environments.
• Provision, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, Route 53, CloudWatch, Systems Manager).
• Support AWS networking (VPCs, subnets, security groups, load balancers, VPNs).
• Perform routine administration, patching, and maintenance of Linux and Windows systems.
• Monitor infrastructure availability, performance, capacity, and health.
• Assist with high availability, DR, and business continuity efforts.
• Manage AWS IAM users, roles, policies, permissions, and service accounts with least privilege.
