The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking an AWS Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Datacenter Consolidation and Cloud Optimization (DCCO) program, providing Tier 3 support to the DHS Homeland Advanced Recognition Technology (HART) biometric system. Responsibilities include maintaining the HART infrastructure, installing and configuring software and hardware, monitoring system performance, resolving customer tickets within JIRA, and supporting incident troubleshooting calls. The Tier 3 team interacts closely with the government customer to achieve system objectives, provide updates, and support on-call duties approximately 4 – 6 times a year. This role is fully telework-based with core hours between 9 am – 3 pm (EST), Monday – Friday; applicants must reside and perform all work within the United States.

Responsibilities:
  1. Help develop, document, communicate, and enforce a network technology policy.
  2. Install and configure new software and hardware, including servers, devices, and firewalls.
  3. Monitor system performance, IT operations, and storage utilization.
  4. Plan hardware or software upgrades to support growth.
  5. Manage user accounts, assets, and security permissions according to policy.
  6. Support escalated help desk requests.
  7. Perform system administrator activities.
  8. Review system logs to identify anomalies and troubleshoot issues.
  9. Identify root causes and document troubleshooting steps.
  10. Support active directory/LDAP, certificate services, network communications, group policy, and security compliance.
  11. Provide Tier III support for incident management.
  12. Work independently and in teams to meet project objectives.
  13. Provide on-call support for approximately 4 – 6 weeks per year.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government agency clearance (DHS EOD required before starting).
  • 5 years of relevant IT experience.

Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related STEM field.
  • Cloud Systems Administration experience; AWS certifications are a plus.
  • Expertise in RHEL, Windows, and open-source technologies.
  • Knowledge of OpenShift, Splunk, Ansible, Jenkins, JFrog, and similar tools.
  • Experience with Java Message Service (JMS) API and message brokers like ActiveMQ.
  • Development experience in Java and/or Golang.
  • Experience managing applications using web services and message queues.

Pay Range:

Range: $48,300 - $96,600, influenced by location, experience, skills, and certifications. We offer comprehensive benefits, including healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, education, and time off. Learn more here.
