Job summary

Peraton is seeking an AWS Security Manager to lead strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of a cloud security program across AWS environments. You will partner with Cloud Engineering, DevOps, GRC, Audit, and Applications teams to enforce security, risk controls, and incident response.

The role requires hands-on expertise, leadership experience, and deep knowledge of AWS services, IAM, KMS, and security tooling. US citizenship and eligibility for Agency clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of cloud security or cybersecurity experience.
• Proven experience leading security engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of AWS IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, CloudWatch and related services.
• Hands‑on Terraform experience with writing and reviewing modules.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain Agency clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop an AWS security engineering team.
• Establish enterprise-wide AWS security standards and policies.
• Oversee IAM strategy, roles, policies, and least-privilege enforcement.
• Guide Lambda development and secure serverless deployments.
• Manage deployment of AWS native security tools (Security Hub, GuardDuty, Config, KMS).
• Collaborate with DevOps to embed security into CI/CD and IaC workflows.
• Drive automation for drift detection, patching, and compliance reporting.
• Oversee detection and response to AWS security events.
• Lead threat investigations, RCA processes, and remediation plans.
