Job summary

Everforth ECS in Stafford, VA is seeking an Information System Security Engineer to support CODIS operations from our Stafford office. The role focuses on secure design, analysis, and testing of information security systems and products within the AWS cloud environment.

The Engineer will create and maintain security test plans, participate in security audits, and advise on risk mitigation, system boundaries, and vulnerability handling.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience in security architecture, vulnerability management, incident response, and network security tools.
• Current Security+ certification (or higher) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Strong attention to detail and solid troubleshooting ability.
• Experience with security settings implementation.

Responsibilities

• Work in Security & Infrastructure for cloud-based development in AWS.
• Responsible for secure design, analysis, and testing of information security systems and products.
• Ensure documentation exists for all systems including security plans and risk analyses.
• Create and update security test plans to detect and mitigate risks.
• Engineer tests and plans to satisfy audits and implement mitigations.
• Apply standards to ensure baseline security safeguards are documented.
• Advise on security activities such as defining boundaries, assessing weaknesses, and handling vulnerabilities.
• Provide AWS network and security support.
• Occasional off-hours support for system upgrades and maintenance.
