Job summary

Everforth ECS in Quantico, VA seeks a Cloud Engineer (Mid) to design, deploy, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure. You will work across DevOps, security, and engineering teams to ensure secure, reliable cloud services supporting mission-critical data systems.

The role requires 5+ years of AWS experience, IaC expertise, and strong Linux administration. Expect emphasis on security, cost optimization, and ongoing modernization efforts within federal-oriented environments.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship and active Top-Secret Clearance.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Strong experience with AWS core services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
• 5+ years of experience using Infrastructure-as-Code (CloudFormation or Terraform).
• 5+ years of Linux system administration experience; comfortable navigating Linux environments.
• Experience implementing cloud security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption (KMS), logging, and compliance controls.
• Experience with automation and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Experience supporting large, complex systems and data sets in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using IaC tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Architect and support highly available, fault-tolerant AWS environments following best practices.
• Manage core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch).
• Support multi-environment deployments while ensuring security compliance.
• Implement and manage networking components (VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, NAT gateways, load balancers).
• Monitor performance, availability, and cost using CloudWatch/CloudTrail/AWS Config.
• Assist patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of cloud-hosted systems.
• Apply security practices including least-privilege IAM, encryption, and auditing.
