Job summary

Mtsi Va is seeking a senior cloud architect to own the hands-on architecture and implementation of a new AWS government cloud environment. You will build and configure account structures, networking, IAM, security services, and data protection, ensuring operational readiness from the ground up.

You will translate compliance requirements into cloud architecture and IaC, develop automated CI/CD capabilities, and document all controls and processes for assessment readiness. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 9+ years designing and supporting AWS cloud infrastructure, especially government cloud.
• Hands-on experience with greenfield landing zones or shared services from architecture to operations.
• Experience implementing NIST SP 800-171 controls for CUI environments.
• Translate compliance requirements into cloud architecture, IaC, monitoring, and procedures.
• U.S. citizenship required and eligible for security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Own AWS government cloud architecture from foundation to operation readiness.
• Configure AWS accounts, networking, IAM, security, encryption, logging, monitoring, and backups.
• Develop IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Implement NIST 800-171 controls in cloud environments.
• Define system boundaries, data flows, and access paths; ensure least privilege.
• Maintain SSP, POA&Ms, diagrams, and data inventories.
• Identify gaps, remediation, and support compliance assessments.
• Build automation and CI/CD to improve security and repeatability.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infra, security, and integration issues.
• Produce architecture and operating documentation.
