Job summary

Arbor Research LLC seeks a DevSecOps Engineer to design, secure, and operate the cloud infrastructure hosting federal research data platforms. The role blends cloud engineering, DevOps automation, and information security to meet FISMA/NIST/HIPAA standards.

You will manage IAM, encryption, CI/CD pipelines, IaC, monitoring and incident response across multi-environment deployments, while partnering with researchers and engineers to enable secure, scalable data workflows in a remote, nationwide

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/InfoSec with at least eight years of experience.
• Experience designing production workloads on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch).
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Security controls for cloud applications: IAM, MFA, encryption and logging.
• Knowledge of federal security frameworks: FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, HIPAA.
• Experience with vulnerability management, patching and incident response.
• Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Proficiency with Git in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and secure cloud infrastructure across environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
• Lead security engineering and compliance activities for NIH/NHLBI projects.
• Collaborate with researchers and developers to ensure secure data workflows.
• Provide documentation and audit-ready security artifacts.
• Coordinate with sponsors on government-facing deployments.
