Job summary

M1 Technology, LLC is seeking an Applications/DevOps Engineer to join our development team in the Herndon, VA area. You will help design, build, and optimize our cloud-based infrastructure and deployment pipelines to support government and commercial clients.

Qualifications include extensive AWS experience with CloudFormation, strong OO programming skills, Jenkins, Docker, ECS, Puppet, and GitHub familiarity. A TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of AWS experience with CloudFormation and AWS SDKs.
• 5+ years of object-oriented programming: Ruby, Python, Java, or NodeJS.
• Experience with Jenkins and building pipelines; CI/CD best practices.
• 1–2 years Docker experience and container orchestration (ECS, Docker Compose).
• 5 years Bash scripting.
• At least 2 years GitHub experience with branching strategies.
• Team player who collaborates across teams.

Responsibilities

• Provision, manage, and optimize AWS resources with CloudFormation.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
• Develop automation tools in Ruby, Python, or NodeJS.
• Architect and manage containerized applications using Docker; orchestrate with ECS.
• Utilize Puppet for configuration management across environments.
• Provide AWS architectural guidance to development teams.
• Bridge software engineering and systems administration for reliability.
• Foster collaboration and mentor peers as needed.
