Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks a Lead Software Engineer to drive secure Data Lake solutions in AWS and to lead AI-assisted development across multiple teams. You will design IaC with Terraform, build services in Python/Java, and explore new AWS data features to enhance reliability and scale.

You will mentor peers, ensure secure, compliant delivery, and contribute to enterprise engineering practices while advancing data-driven insights.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
Hands-on experience in AWS, especially in Data Management arena such as Glue, EMR, Athena, Redshift, and Lake Formation.
Proficient in Python, Java, and database query languages for applications development, debugging, and maintenance in a large corporate environment.
Demonstrated experience leading effective use of AI-assisted software development tools with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity considerations, and secure delivery practices.

Responsibilities

Designs and implements secure Data Lake solutions within the AWS environment.
IaC development including Terraform configuration scripts and Python/Java services in AWS.
Explores and evaluates new Data Management features offered by AWS.
Drives team adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Promotes secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and reuse of effective patterns.
Gathers and visualizes data to drive continuous improvement of software applications.
