Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Threat Hunter / Cybersecurity Analyst to identify, investigate, and respond to advanced threats across AWS cloud environments. You will collaborate with Security Operations, Cloud Engineering, and Incident Response to improve detection, controls, and protection of critical systems.

The role requires hands-on experience with AWS services, cloud telemetry, and security tooling.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT experience required.
• 3+ years in cybersecurity, threat hunting, security ops, incident response, or cloud security.
• 2+ years securing or investigating AWS cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of AWS security principles, IAM, networking, logging, and monitoring.
• Experience analyzing AWS CloudTrail, VPC Flow Logs, GuardDuty, IAM events, DNS logs, and other cloud telemetry.
• Experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, XDR, or cloud-native security platforms.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive threat hunting across AWS accounts, workloads, identities, networks, and applications.
• Investigate suspicious activity, anomalous behavior, unauthorized access, privilege escalation, data exfiltration, and other security incidents.
• Develop, tune, and validate detection rules, alerts, and threat-hunting queries.
• Support incident response activities including triage, containment, evidence collection, root-cause analysis, and recovery.
• Produce concise technical and executive reports on findings, risks, and recommendations.
• Stay current on cloud attack techniques and adversary behavior relevant to AWS.
