Job summary

Stout, a Detroit-based firm, is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to enhance reliability, scalability, and security of its cloud infrastructure. You’ll manage AWS environments, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized workloads to improve deployment processes and production operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure and production environments.
• Advanced Terraform experience with reusable modules and multi-environment deployments.
• Strong Docker and container orchestration experience, preferably with AWS ECS.
• Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline/CodeBuild, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of AWS networking (VPCs, subnets, security groups, load balancers, IAM).
• Experience with monitoring, logging, incident response, and production troubleshooting.
• Understanding of Git, GitOps, cloud security, and highly available AWS architectures.

Responsibilities

• Build, manage, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform and IaC.
• Administer AWS services including ECS, EC2, VPC, ALB/NLB, Auto Scaling, IAM, S3, Secrets Manager.
• Manage Docker workloads and ECS services, deployments, scaling, and troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using CodePipeline/CodeBuild, GitHub Actions, or equivalents.
• Configure AWS networking, security groups, load balancing, TLS certificates, and private connectivity.
• Maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting with CloudWatch and observability tools.
• Troubleshoot production incidents across AWS, containers, networking, and pipelines.
• Support high availability, backup, recovery, capacity planning, and cloud security.
• Maintain IaC workflows in Git with GitOps practices and runbooks.
• Develop operational documentation and automation to support reliable cloud operations.
• Collaborate with technology teams to improve platform engineering and tooling.
