Job summary

Sotalent is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to design and operate a secure AWS hosting environment for proprietary software. You will bridge architecture and customer success, ensuring health and security of single-tenant clouds while building automation to accelerate deployments.

Responsibilities include migrations from legacy systems, on-call rotations, and collaboration with developers to resolve complex issues across the stack. Strong CI/CD and Linux/Windows experience required.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of AWS experience with S3, EC2, VPC and CloudWatch.
• Strong networking background including VPCs, VPN tunnels, subnets and firewall configuration.
• Infrastructure as Code and automation tools like Ansible, Chef, or AWS SSM.
• Deep experience managing and patching Windows Server environments from 2012 onward.
• Scripting in PowerShell, Python or C#.
• Experience supporting RESTful and SOAP-based web services.
• Database management with SQL Server, MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Understanding encryption standards for data at rest and in flight.
• Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control.
• Knowledge of Linux system administration.
• Familiarity with access control software platforms.
• Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation for production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale secure AWS infrastructure for proprietary software hosting.
• Manage operating systems and collaborate with developers to resolve complex technical issues.
• Oversee application deployments and cloud service monitoring.
• Develop automation scripts to increase team agility and deployment speed.
• Conduct security audits and implement proactive system enhancements.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure 24/7 service stability.
• Integrate and test hardware and software components tailored to client needs.
