Job summary

Mercer University is seeking an AWARE Lead Peer Educator to support the AWARE Peer Educators and CAPS. The role requires daytime hours with some evenings and weekends. You will plan and run mental health and wellness programs, coordinate with staff, and promote events through social media and print materials.

You will collaborate with students and staff to track participation and outcomes, ensuring strong communication and a student-centered approach to wellness education.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled at Mercer University during the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Elected or appointed as a co-lead of AWARE with at least one academic year of experience as an AWARE member.
  • Experience designing and implementing educational programs and evaluating their outcomes.
  • Experience using social media to promote various program initiatives (i.e., Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat).
  • Experience designing marketing materials using platforms like Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Canva.
  • Experience leading student members.
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, self-motivation and flexibility.
  • Able to work independently and in group settings with Mercer constituencies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong interest in educating students about wellness.

Job Title: AWARE Lead Peer Educator

Job Description: This professionally minded individual(s) will help support the AWARE Peer Educators and CAPS. They must be available during daytime hours as well as some evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities
  • Creating, planning, and facilitating educational programs in mental health and wellness.
  • Advising and meeting regularly with student members of AWARE.
  • Meeting with professional staff members to develop AWARE or CAPS programs.
  • Designing and maintaining social media and print materials to promote AWARE and CAPS events.
  • Attending all applicable meetings and programs associated with these functional areas.
  • Maintaining appropriate records of program participation and assessment tools.
Required Qualifications
