Churches United for the Homeless in Moorhead, MN seeks a Shelter Advocate to provide essential 24-hour awake coverage, ensure guest safety, and connect individuals to housing resources. Qualifications

• Excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of harm reduction, strength-based, and behavior based models.
• Knowledge of homelessness, poverty, substance abuse, mental illness, and criminal records.

Responsabilités

• Provide essential 24-hour awake coverage and shelter supervision.
• Perform crisis intervention for callers seeking shelter or referrals.
• Complete intake assessments, screenings, and guest enrollment.
• Ensure safety and security of guests, volunteers, visitors, and staff.
• Maintain guest files and data in accordance with program requirements.
