Job summary

Advocates is seeking Direct Care Staff to assist brain injury survivors with daily living activities and community appointments. You will work with residents to promote independence and empowerment, documenting progress and collaborating with a supportive team.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED, plus compassion, reliability, and basic computer skills. Evening and overnight shifts are included, with a focus on respectful, person-centered care within a nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated empathy and patience while assisting residents.
• Strong communication skills for documentation and collaboration.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow care plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs (showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, feeding, medications) and ROM exercises.
• Collaborate with residents to develop and monitor treatment and behavior plans.
• Model Independent living skills and encourage participation in activities.
• Attend resident, family, and staff meetings to communicate updates.
• Document progress and changes in status, ensuring timely shift notes.
