Role overview

DUAL North America is seeking an AVP Technology Delivery & Release Management to lead enterprise technology delivery, release governance, and strategic project execution across the organization. This role requires a strong leader who can drive the successful planning, coordination, communication, and delivery of technology initiatives while ensuring alignment with business objectives. The AVP will oversee a team of product owners, analysts and project professionals, manage complex cross-functional technology programs, establish release management best practices, and partner closely with business and technology leaders to deliver scalable solutions that support operational excellence and business growth.

Leadership and Strategy

Lead, mentor, and develop a team responsible for requirements management, release management, and project execution. Partner with senior business and technology leaders to prioritize initiatives, manage delivery portfolios, and align technology investments with business outcomes. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and execution excellence.

Release Management and Governance

Own and mature the enterprise release management function, including release planning, scheduling, governance, risk management, and deployment readiness. Establish standardized release management processes, controls, and reporting to improve delivery predictability and quality. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of technology releases across applications, infrastructure, and business systems. Drive release readiness reviews, dependency management, risk mitigation planning, and post-release assessments. Ensure releases are delivered in accordance with organizational standards, compliance requirements, and business expectations.

Release Communications and Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders by translating technical concepts into business-relevant information. Develop and execute comprehensive release communication plans for business and technology stakeholders. Provide timely updates regarding release schedules, impacts, milestones, risks, and deployment activities. Present program status, release outcomes, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

Technical Requirements Management

Lead the gathering, prioritization, and validation of technical and functional requirements for strategic technology initiatives. Collaborate with architects, engineers and business stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly defined and actionable. Establish best practices for requirements management to improve solution quality, reduce rework, and accelerate delivery. Ensure technical requirements align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and business objectives.

Project and Program Management

Lead complex technology projects and programs from initiation through implementation and operational transition. Ensure delivery teams maintain alignment with scope, timelines, quality expectations, and business goals. Drive cross-functional coordination to remove obstacles, resolve issues, and maintain project momentum. Utilize SAFe Agile 6.0, and traditional project delivery methodologies as appropriate to maximize successful outcomes.

Data-Driven Delivery Excellence

Leverage reporting and analytics to monitor progress, identify risks, and support executive decision-making. Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on performance trends and lessons learned.

Change Leadership and Organizational Readiness

Support organizational readiness activities that support successful adoption of new technology solutions and capabilities. Partner with business stakeholders to ensure alignment between project delivery objectives and operational execution. Promote best practices that improve delivery efficiency, team effectiveness, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology delivery, project/program management, release management, or related technology leadership roles, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
  • PMP, SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), Release Train Engineer (RTE), or equivalent certifications preferred.
  • Experience implementing enterprise release management frameworks and governance models preferred.
  • Extensive experience leading large-scale technology programs, enterprise initiatives, and cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Release Management, Project Management, and Technical Requirements Management within complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile SAFe 6, and traditional project management methodologies.
  • Proven success managing technology portfolios, release governance processes, and organizational transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working closely with architecture, engineering, infrastructure and business teams to deliver enterprise technology solutions.
  • Strong understanding of IT operations, software delivery lifecycles, governance frameworks, and technology strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risks, dependencies, budgets, resources, and competing priorities across multiple initiatives.
  • Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with a focus on delivering measurable business value through technology.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing strategic planning with operational execution.
