Job summary

Mizuho is seeking an Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Tax Support in New York as a key liaison between Tax and Financial Reporting. You will support tax-related reporting, audits and compliance with strong governance and documentation to ensure audit readiness.

The role involves hybrid work with varying remote options. A base salary range is provided from $93,000 to $140,000, with a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental and 401K plans.

Qualifications

• Experience in tax reporting aligned with US GAAP/regulatory reporting.
• Strong governance, documentation and audit readiness skills.
• Ability to coordinate with Tax, Financial Reporting, and Audit teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate tax-related components of financial statements (current tax, deferred tax, disclosures).
• Ensure alignment between tax outputs and financial reporting requirements (US GAAP/regulatory).
• Support quarterly and year-end reporting cycles, including entity-level reporting and monthly provisions.
• Coordinate with Tax team to provide support for tax returns across legal entities.
• Maintain tax calendars and validates data used in tax filings.
